Context
North Lodge is a self-catered holiday cottage, a superb detached lodge house in the hamlet of Brydekirk in lovely Annandale. Gorgeously decorated and furnished to a high standard, open fire, large enclosed riverside garden. North Lodge is a family-run business with a passion for creating wonderful memories and experiences for their guests.
The brief
North Lodge first got in touch, requiring a platform to accept bookings. Unhappy with the third-party booking system they were currently working with, North Lodge wanted a bespoke system that they had complete control over.
As discussions continued, it was clear that North Lodge also needed a visual identity, a foundation to their website and other marketing material.
Brand
North Lodge was first built in 1799, and so DH wanted to spark the building’s character and history within the visual identity. This is a family-run business, so the brand needed to feel personable - professional and premium, but also friendly and approachable. North Lodge is a home away from home, and invites guests to escape and relax. The brand identity is calming and comfortable, creating a cosy place that feels familiar.
Design
The website design for North Lodge needed to align with the same values and approach that was set out for the visual identity. DH produced designs which focussed on the homely nature of the lodge, its charm and character, proudly displaying the greenery and impressive garden space.
Emphasis was not only placed on the internal, but also looking outwards at the wealth of things to do in the area. North Lodge invites you to stay, but also provides many options for all walks of life.
Build
It was vital for North Lodge that not only was the booking system clear and intuitive for customers to use, but that the team also had complete control over bookings, pricing, fees, cancellations and refunds. Having been dissatisfied with a third-party provider for some time, North Lodge wanted something custom made, fitting to their needs.
Build
DH wanted to ensure that the real-world processes for North Lodge were not disrupted when moving over to their bespoke system, and that they had the same level of flexibility as before when it came to managing bookings, dealing with cancellations, refunds, and changes. We developed a management dashboard enabling North Lodge to achieve all of this easily, allowing them to focus on other aspects of their business.
Results
North Lodge have just begun their journey with their new platform. We expect them to retain their revenue with so many returning customers, while significantly increasing their profits through 0 booking fees.
